A system rebuild when I replaced my motherboard with a different one (after it failed for the third time) followed by another Windows reset did nothing. Resetting windows and reinstalling all drivers from scratch did nothing. It has remained across multiple driver versions including the current 1.9.2 AMD driver. If anything less demanding games crash even more. One constant is that I have to be playing a game. It happens no matter what game I play, regardless of how demanding the game is. Sometimes it occurs several times within just a few minutes. Sometimes I can go hours without an issue. I usually have to close it completely with task manager before it will open again. On a couple of occasions, though not recently, the driver has failed to recover entirely and I've been forced to reboot.Īfter an event AMD's driver control panel will usually fail to open with the message that it's stopped responding. It will either unfreeze with the message above, or will go completely black then come back with multiple alerts indicating that the driver went unresponsive repeatedly after "recovering". ![]() ![]() While playing games the screen will randomly without warning freeze up for a few seconds. This problem appeared after my first motherboard RMA.
